Wants Rs 100 crore each for damage of reputation caused to news network and editor-in-chief and MD, Arnab Goswami

Republic TV to sue Mumbai Police Commissioner for Rs 200 crore
Republic Media Network has issued a statement through which it has revealed that the network is starting legal proceedings to sue Mumbai Police Commissioner Param Bir Singh for Rs 200 crore.
 
The release reveals that its editor-in-chief and managing director, Arnab Goswami, has directed his legal team Phoenix Legal to initiate proceedings.
 
The network is looking for Rs 100 crore each for damage to the reputation of the news network and Goswami.
 
The channel's news release stated the Mumbai Police and Maharashtra Government lawyer admitted in court on 19 October that Republic TV was not named in the FIR in the TRP case. 
 
The channel added that it will also file a contempt petition against the special executive magistrate and assistant Police Commissioner Sudhir Jambavdekar on account that he initiated chapter proceedings with respect to HIRs that have been suspended by the orders of the Bombay High Court.
